What type of Organisation is Tai Chi Evolutions ?
It is a Not For Profit organisation, with membership fees set to cover costs such as Hall Hire, Printing and Insurance. The allocation of any surplus, after operating expenses, will be decided by members at the Annual General Meeting. All Instructors give their time and experience for free, other than agreed operating/out of pocket expenses

Master Moy Lin-Shin evolved Yang Style Tai Chi to maximise Health benefits for both Body and Mind. Tai Chi Evolutions seeks to develop and innovate his teachings, taking the essence ancient wisdom and making it relevant for modern people.
Who accredits Tai Chi Evolutions instructors ?
The founder member and Chief Instructor of Tai Chi Evolutions is Andrew Kirby PhD, who was trained directly by Master Moy Lin-Shin and given overall responsibility for training and accreditation of instructors for the whole of Europe. He has over 33 years experience of teaching Tai Chi. Andrew reviews and accredits all Tai Chi Evolutions Instructors.

How fit do I need to be do to Tai Chi?
If you can stand and walk you will be able to begin to learn Tai Chi. If standing is a problem you can still participate in some of the moves while sitting. The whole purpose of Tai Chi Evolutions is to promote Health in both Body and Mind. Everyone over 18 is welcome to become a member and learn to practice our style of Tai Chi. The teaching is designed to encourage gentle movements and stretching, which has been proved to benefit balance, muscle strength and mental concentration. Members are always reminded to work within their limits and, when commencing any exercise programme, to consult their medical professional first
Do I need special clothing or footwear ?
You should wear comfortable, loose clothing and flat, well fitting shoes such as trainers (not flip flops or open back sandals). T-Shirts and Polo Shirts with organisation logos are available at cost, but not required.
How do I join a class ?
Beginner classes will be advertised on this website and are held at regular intervals. They run for approximately 6 months. When beginners are ready they will be encouraged to move on to a Continuing Class where the Instructor will teach more in depth techniques.
What about COVID-19?
We recommend to all our members follow the latest Government advice on COVID-19 and to take a test if they have symptoms. If they are positive, we ask they do not attend classes until they test negative. If a member tests positive after attending a class we ask them to inform their instructor, who will advise all class members.
Do venues have Risk Assessments carried out?
All venues for classes have had a written Risk Assessment completed and this is available for inspection by class members.
Is my Personal Data safe?
Only necessary data is collected. Membership forms ask for basic contact information and are held in a secure location. Class Instructors hold class lists for emergency contact purposes and roll calls in case of evacuations. Paper copies are kept in secure locations and electronic data is under password protection.
